While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). The Lord didn’t say, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest time…shall not cease.” To say “seed time and harvest time” suggests that there’s a definite time of sowing and a definite time of harvest. But “seedtime and harvest” means harvest is anytime. In other words, you might as well consider today the day of harvest! What the Lord is saying to us here is that though there......

For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) The walk of faith is the lifestyle of every Christian. The earlier you realize this, the better for you. The reason is that you’ll be confronted with several challenges along your path. Amidst these, your testimony must remain consistent with what God has said. The Bible says, And being not weak in faith, he (Abraham) considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the......

There’s a difference between confession and testimony. The confession of the WORD and the testimony of God’s WORD are not the same. When we confess the Word, we are responding to God’s Word in agreement with Him. Confession brings us the blessings of salvation. If I’ve been in a mess, or I’ve found myself in some predicament, maybe sickness, disease or affliction; I’ll confess the Word and by my confession I’ll catapult myself into the liberty of the children of God, because confession brings salvation. “For with the heart man believeth unto......

For the New Testament believer, prayer is not just a means of religious communication with God; it’s a fellowship. Some people pray because they’ve been brought up to think it’s a religious obligation they must fulfill. True, the Lord Jesus said, “…men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Luke 18:1), letting us know prayer is a spiritual obligation for every believer. But that’s not all that God intended prayer to be. In Luke 18:1, the Master said we ought to pray. So we know one of the reasons we pray......

When you discover that you have a strong desire for change, then God is at your door. The strong desire is the response of the human soul to God, as He knocks on the door of your heart. There’s something about the human soul; when your soul cries out in a strong desire, God immediately responds to it. God said, ‘before you call I’ll be there, before you ask, I’ll answer you’ (Isaiah 65:24). What do you do with your desire? Let’s learn from David. David had an excellent reputation of seeking......

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith (Romans 12:6). Sometimes, some Christians wonder how come they prophesied that something was going to happen and it didn’t happen, and then they concluded that maybe it was a false prophecy after all. Not necessarily. Let’s learn from the Prophet Elijah: there had been no rain for three and a half years, then suddenly he prophesied to King Ahab ;get thee up, eat and drink; for there is......

OUR COMMUNICATION Let’s go back to the questions asked at the beginning of this study. But this time, we’ll be looking inward on how we communicate, as though we were in the position to make these statements, and not necessarily having them made to us. You get it right most of the time. You mess it up every once in a while. In life we have to make decisions as to what we want to be like, and how we want to communicate. Do you want to be a good communicator or......

INTRODUCTION A Short Exercise: If someone were to make a statement to you, for example, about your performance: which of these two statements would you prefer? You get it right most of the time You mess it up every once in a while. These two statements are intended for the same purpose, except you think otherwise. From the statements above, it’s clear that the first one is more positive and emphasizes the achievements of the individual, while the second tends to highlight his/her errors, which only occur once in a while. We......

“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18) Did you just get a promotion or a raise in your salary? Have you just bought a new car or moved into your new home? Well if you have, what is the significance of your promotion in God’s Kingdom? What impact has your pay-raise had on the things of God? How many people were......

Some people don’t bother praying, because even when they do, they don’t expect answers. If you don’t have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, that is, you’re not born again, you shouldn’t expect answers because He wouldn’t even hear you. However, if you’re God’s child, you have a right to expect answers when you pray; but to have those answers consistently, you must pray according to God’s Word revealed concerning prayer in the New Testament. God invites us to pray; He’s not troubled with our prayers. Some people think they shouldn’t......
