72 families equipped with income-generating skills in the InnerCity Mission’s program.

72 families in the InnerCity Mission Family Support Program benefited from a Skill Acquisition Training organized by Mrs. Mary Nkrumah — a current beneficiary of the same program — who trained them in pastry-making, an income-generating business she started when she enrolled in the Family Support Program.

Families receive training in pastry making.

Skills acquisition is one of several structures in the Family Support Program to promote self-reliance and poverty alleviation among program participants over the period of a year. Families in the program receive monthly food support, skills acquisition training and the Word of God in an effort to break the cycle of poverty. 805 of these families have started up small businesses to help provide for their families, using skills acquired in the program.

The event wrapped up beautifully, with food distribution assuring that families left with ideas for income generation and food for the month. Be a part of this by sponsoring a family or volunteering your time and expertise to the skills acquisition trainings.
