“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end…†(Isaiah 9:7). If you were under the bridge when Jesus met you ,you didn’t have a home, a friend and food to eat He’ll take you out of poverty and change your life forever. Did you know this was one of the reasons the Roman government during the days of the apostles was against Christianity? The emperors of the time discovered that everyone that received the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ, no matter how low he was, soon began walking and talking like a king. Some of their servants who believed in Jesus no longer talked or behaved like slaves.
They weren’t rude or anything like that but, there was just something about them that gave them human dignity and if we don’t do something about this, one day these people will take over, the authorities must have thought, and they began to persecute them. They didn’t care much about religion. They knew religion brought people down and enslaved them by man- made rules and regulations. But this is a new religion seemed to stir the people up instead: the guy may not have any money in his pocket, but he walks and talks like a king nevertheless.
That’s what Christianity does; it stirs up your excellent spirit. When you keep talking like that it wouldn’t be too long before it starts to show in your life that way. Can you imagine what was on the minds of the authorities? They had thought they’d finally got rid of this Jesus for good, only to find out He was more dangerous a dead than He was alive. Little did they know that He was still alive, living forever at the right hand of the Father. So we are here today to remind every living creature of this truth. Jesus came into your life to lift you and give you hope and a future. More than all that, He came to deliver to you an inheritance. When He lifts you, no man or demon, nothing created can bring you down. So you see, no country or government can stop the prosperity of God’s people. Hallelujah!
