The believer also gives thanks and praise to God as he speaks in tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:17).

(d) He who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks mysteries or hidden truth, to God. (1 Corinthians 14:2)

There is a major difference between speaking in tongues as recorded in Mark 16:17 and 1 Corinthians 12:10. The latter is a gift of the Spirit. It is given to believers as the Holy Spirit decides.
In 1 Corinthians 12:10, the Bible talks about the working of the Spirit of God.

The Gift Of The Holy Spirit –1 Corinthians 12:7-12

The gifts here mean manifestation of the There are nine gifts of the Spirit as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.

The Ministry Gifts

But into everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the Gift of Christ.”  Ephesians 4:7

“Wherefore he saith, when he ascended upon on high, he led captivity Captive, and gave gifts unto men. And he gave some apostles; and some Prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the Perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:8, 11-12)

Paul clearly spelt out the various offices God has set apart to see to it that the Christian is built up and made ready to do the work of the ministry;

The ministry given to those who occupy these five offices in the
body of Christ is primarily to PERFECT THE SAINTS.

THESE MINISTRY GIFTS ARE

(a)The Apostle
This comes from the Greek word Apostolos that means a sent one, an ambassador of the Gospel,

(b). The Prophet
This is derived from the Greek word Prophetes. It shows a foreteller; an inspired speaker.

(c) The Evangelist
Paul took this from the Greek word Evangelisties literally means, ‘a messenger of good’.
Heb 2:4,

(d) The Pastor
The Greek word for Pastor as Paul used it is Poi men. This means a shepherd or one who tends/ herds flock.

(e) The Teacher
From the Greek word, ‘Didaskalos. This means, one who instructs; who expound in details
the word of God and any revelation given by God (I Corinthians 13:2). According to Apostle Paul, the five fold ministry gifts motivates and train the saints for the work of the ministry.

(2) The Difference Between The Ministry Gifts And The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit.
The major difference between these nine manifestations of the Spirit of God from the ministry gifts earlier discussed is found in I Corinthians 12:7

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyman to profit withal”

Every Christian necessarily have at least one of the nine
The second difference is found in I Corinthians 14:1; “Follow after charity, and DESIRE spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy”.

So we find here that you can covet the nine gifts while the five fold gift is a calling

“And no man taketh this honor unto himself, but he that is called of
God as was Aaron” Hebrew 5:4.

All these manifestations of the Spirit serves for the edifying and common good of the church (I Corinthians 12:7);
But Paul shows that the best of them is the gift of prophecy. I Corinthians 14:1.The reason is because it is one gift that edifies and builds up the church at once when its in operation. He said;
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation and comfort” I Corinthians 14:3

(3) Every Christian can walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
These signs shall follow them that believe Mark 16:16-17
Believing puts one in the power of the Holy Spirit 1Pet 1:5
You now have the Spirit of Power
You can do all things
Every christian can walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and live in boldness
Ephesians 3:20, Ephesians 1:19, 2 Corinthians 15:4,
2Corinthians 4:20.
